- With "I Put A Spell On You", Nina Simone released one of her most popular albums in 1965, which also contains some of her best-known songs. Her great version of the title track in particular caused a sensation at the time. While Screamin' Jay Hawkins had given the song an ironic touch in the original, Nina transformed it into a rousing love song. Another highlight is the Broadway number "Feeling Good", which Mary J. Blige sampled for her song "About You" in 2006. Nina Simone delighted her then rapidly growing French fan base with interpretations of three well-known chansons: "Tomorrow Is My Turn" ("L'amour c'est comme un jour") and "You've Got To Learn" ("Il faut savoir") by Charles Aznavour as well as "Ne Me Quitte Pas" by Jacques Brel.
