- The Zircon StudSensor Basic SL is a simple, dependable stud finder designed to accurately detect wood or metal stud edges behind drywall. With scanning capability up to 3/4 inch deep, it provides reliable results for hanging pictures, mirrors, shelves, décor, and other household mounting projects. As the tool moves across the wall, red LEDs illuminate as you approach a stud edge, followed by a green LED and audible tone to confirm the exact edge location. The built-in SpotLite beam clearly shines a light on the wall where the stud edge is found, making marking fast and straightforward. To reduce scanning errors, the StudSensor Basic SL includes over-the-stud detection that alerts you if you begin scanning directly over a stud, ensuring you can reposition for an accurate reading. Compact and easy to use, the StudSensor Basic SL operates on a 9V alkaline battery (not included), and using a fresh battery ensures consistent performance on every project.
