- The Gateway Intermediate Workbook, often referred to simply as the Gateway Workbook, is a training manual used by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to instruct intelligence officers in the art of remote viewing. Remote viewing is a purported psychic ability that allows individuals to gather information about a distant or unseen target without using their physical senses. The Gateway Workbook is associated with a program known as Project Stargate, which was a secret program conducted by the CIA and other U.S. government agencies from the 1970s to the mid-1990s.
