- Octo-Gauge is a unique 135 degree Layout Square. Use it like a regular 90 degree box square when working with outside 45 degree angles, cuts and assemblies. Much easier to use for checking outside 45's than a standard combination square, adjustable angle gauge, drafting triangles or protractors. Each arm of the Octo-Gauge is 8" long on the outside edge and 7" long on its inside edge (see photos). The arms are 1 & 5/8" wide with rulers along all long edges - front & rear which are graduated in 1/4" increments with zero at the gauge's center apex. The long arms make for more accurate layouts and results. The Octo-Gauge is CNC fabricated from rigid, military-grade fiberglass ( 0.070" thick), which is dimensionally stable over all normal shop and outdoor working conditions of temperature and humidity. It is dead-on accurate at a 135 degree angle. It is slightly flexible, but rigid, but always keeps its shape perfectly. It will not permanently distort like aluminum casing and framing squares. It is lightweight like aluminum box squares, so it will not damage a workpiece like a steel square will if dropped or dragged on the workpiece. Not just for woodworkers! The Octo-Gauge is a useful layout tool for all craftsmen & crafters working in all media & products - fabric, commercial artists, sculpture, signage, sheet metal, and similar. Keep it right next to your other 45 degree layout tools: triangles, combination squares & protractors. You will find yourself using the Octo-Gauge whenever you are cutting, forming and checking 45 degree angles in your projects.

Best way to layout and check outside 45 degree angles, cuts and assemblies. No fumbling with multiple squares or drafting triangles. Much more accurate and repeatable than an adjustable angle tranfer gauge. Made of sturdy military grade fiberglass laminate. Can be dropped from any height normally encountered in the carpentry trades and not deform or break. Rulers with 1/4" graduations are included on both long edges of both sides of the Octo-Gauge. The zero mark is located precisley at the apex allowing you to make accurate and unambiguous measurements. Front & rear faces of theOctoGauge have the same markings. Ordinary 45-90 combination squares cannot be configured to make a workable inside and outside 135 degree angle like the Octo-Gauge provides effortlessly. Unlike an ordinary 45-90 combo square, the Octo-Gauge lies flat on a drawing or workpiece for quick and accurate marking and checking of outside 45 degree (i.e. 135 degree) corners, nothches, joints and similar. Very helpful for laying out 45 degree elbow runs during rough-in plumbing.
