Do not place your gateway on the floor. Higher is better. If you live in a two-story house, placing the gateway on the second floor usually increases wireless coverage. Do not place your gateway and taplinker near any big metal objects, e.g., refrigerator. Please note that the 2.4 GHz spectrum is shared by many wireless devices including WiFi, ZigBee, Bluetooth, wireless speakers, cordless phones, TV box, webcams, and more. Therefore, the communication between the gateway and taplinker can potentially be interfered by other 2.4 GHz devices in some occasions. To reduce the possible interference, please separate the gateway/taplinker from power board and other 2.4 GHz devices, e.g., WiFi router or extender, by ~2 feet (60cm). Switch your WiFi network to the 5GHz band if possible.
