- The standard US Army and USMC protractor is the Graphic Training Aid (GTA) 05-02-012 dated Jul 2008, and we have taken that design and added some warfighting symbology stencil shapes for military map marking as well as a range finding sector. Normally these are printed on plastic so thin you can scrunch it into a ball in your hand, so it comes out of your pocket broken, scratched or unreadable. We decided the US Army and USMC needed a protractor that they could rely on, so we made this one from 1.5 mm thick. This means is it very strong, waterproof, and both plastic and ink are UV stable for years of direct sun exposure. At last you can have a protractor that is soldier proof, and almost bullet proof for land navigation or orienteering with you map and compass.
