- 'Mellow Yellow' is the fourth studio album by British singer-songwriter Donovan. It originally appeared in the United States in March 1967, but not in the UK due to a contract dispute. The songs on 'Mellow Yellow' represent a change in Donovan's writing style. Donovan also gave a hint to his friend Bert Jansch on 'House of Jansch', which marks the album as the third Donovan album in a row, paying tribute to a British folk personality. On the album, John Cameron plays bluespiano, harpsichord and took over the arrangements and, although not mentioned on the album, Paul McCartney played bass guitar and delivered background vocals on some tracks.
