Why is pure copper better than the common CCA wiring? The CCA wiring (Copper Clad Aluminum) uses an aluminum conductor, a material less expensive than pure copper, coated with copper. In short what this means in terms of performance is that since CCA has a higher attenuation, there will be a lost higher chance of packet loss or data corruption at the physical layer. The longer the cable is, the higher chance of this happening is much more likely. In addition, CCA has lower tensile strength resulting the likelihood of cable damage through pulling or bending. However, with the use of pure copper wiring, the user will have more reliable connectivity and cable durability. That is why all iMBAPrice cables are made with 100% pure copper wiring.
