- Kinesio Pre-Cut Knee Support is designed for runner’s knee, providing knee and patella support, and alleviating associated pain and swelling. Each packet contains a single-use, customizable set of tape strips and instructions. Each Knee Support application comes with one black I-strip, one blue I-strip and one back Y-strip cut from genuine Kinesio Tex Tape Gold. A common ailment among runners, so-called “runner’s knee” can also affect athletes and anyone else who does a lot of walking, biking or jumping. The condition usually causes aching pain around the kneecap. Causes include overuse, where repeated bending of the knee irritates the nerves of the patella (kneecap), direct trauma to the knee in a fall or blow, misalignment or foot problems or weak thigh muscles. Certain parts of your body may bear too much weight. This can cause pain and damage to the joints. Sometimes, the kneecap itself is slightly out of position.
