FORGED STEEL HEAD – Made in the USA, this axe features a 5 lb. head forged from durable tool steel, providing exceptional strength, toughness, and edge retention for long-lasting performance in tough outdoor tasks WEDGE-SHAPED BLADE & BALANCED HEAD – Featuring a wedge-shaped blade with a high centerline, this axe reduces friction, making splitting more efficient and preventing the blade from sticking, while the larger poll and balanced design offer optimal control and power. STRONG AMERICAN HICKORY HANDLE – The straight American hickory handle is kiln-dried to below 10% moisture content to reduce shrinkage and prevent loosening, and is securely mounted with a traditional wood and steel wedge for added durability. QUALITY FINISH & TEMPERED EDGE – Coated with boiled linseed oil to resist rust, the axe’s head features 25° convex bevels on the bit, which are hand-sharpened to a hardness of Rc 48-55, ensuring superior cutting performance for years to come.
