Sobre este producto
  • This book is a practical PostgreSQL DBA guide based on real-world administration experience for PostgreSQL 15–17.It comprehensively covers all aspects essential for operating PostgreSQL, from installation and environment setup to object management, understanding the architecture, configuring key parameters, physical and logical replication, backup and recovery, monitoring, and Vacuum. What is not covered in this book? This book does not cover optimization topics such as performance tuning or query tuning. Based on the author's actual PostgreSQL tuning project experience, this content is planned for a separate book. Who should read this book? This book is suitable for those who have 1-2 years of experience with PostgreSQL, or for those familiar with other DBMS but are just starting with PostgreSQL. Is this book not for everyone? This book targets PostgreSQL beginners or DBAs with limited practical experience. Therefore, it may be too basic for those already possessing deep expertise in PostgreSQL, and we do not recommend it for such readers. The difficulty level is beginner to intermediate, focusing on foundational and applied knowledge that can be directly applied in practice. What did you focus on most while writing the book? While writing this book, my primary focus was to provide practical content based on real-world experience that would genuinely assist DBAs in their work. Furthermore, through multiple rounds of editing, I refined and polished the expressions to ensure readers could more easily grasp the concepts I aimed to convey. Key concepts and operational principles are visually explained using over 40 illustrations, enabling readers to grasp complex topics more intuitively. How to Read This Book We recommend reading this book in order, starting from Chapter 1. Understanding the material covered earlier is essential for effectively learning subsequent content. Please type out the practice examples included in the book yourself whenever possible. Your skills will naturally improve through the process of typing them out, encountering errors, and resolving them through trial and error. However, the main scripts provided in Chapter 7 'Monitoring' can be downloaded via the GitHub link below. https://github.com/SiyeonAcademy/postgresql/blob/main/postgresql_script.zip Table of Contents 1.
