- One ought to think, what challenging title. But these are challenging times we live in. Taken from the album-opener ""5th Avenue"", Matija raise a simple and obvious but important question with their album title ""Are We An Electric Generation Falling Apart"". The digital revolution is standing at the crossroads and the following years are going to be historically significant. Is that, what is supposed to be held together by the world-wide-web, smartphone and social media actually now falling to pieces Ten titles have made it on ""Electric Generation"". Produced by Johann Scheerer (Peter Doherty e.g.) it was recorded in their label's in-house studio at Clouds Hill. Which is packed with analog equipment - a treasure island for musicians and production nerds. This already is a contrast to what is happening in the pop world in 2017, where only a few established artist can afford the luxury of a good recording studio and the rest have to consider themselves satisfied with music videos recorded by mobile phones and where it is essential to post some shallow and catchy stuff on social media each day. ""Electric Generation"" is a true analog tape recording, capturing the band playing live, which was later mixed with analog and digital equipment. It is the best of both worlds but it was always the sound aesthetic in mind, which was dictating the equipment, not the other way around. Ranging from thoughtful songs (""Hello My Creator"") to blithe arrangements which sometimes highlight the guitar (""White Socks""), then put synthesizer sounds in the foreground (""Modern Girl"") or songs like ""Justify Your Love"" which are carried by the vocals
