- Will not sling off the surface. Flows easily. "Stay-Put" characteristics. Molybdenum disulfide "Moly" formula. Pumpable formula. Color: black. Designed for Gear-Guard was designed for application requiring maximum protection against wear or to reduce friction on metal mating surfaces. Ideally suited for bull or open gears exposed to the elements. This very tenacious formula allows the product to flow on high pressure points without being slung off the surface. Recommended lubrication: apply using a heavy duty brush by painting the material over the surface. The Gear-Guard will quickly adhere to the metal but is not a stringy or hard to work with product. Not recommended for: oxygen services. Personal precautions: wear gloves and protective overalls. Environmental precautions: do not allow it to enter drains. Spillage: scrape up bulk, then wipe up remainder with cloth. To prevent walking hazard, pick up remaining residue with diatomaceous earth. Handling: no special handling precautions necessary. Storage: do not store at elevated temperatures. Respiratory protection: none needed. Hand protection: protective gloves for hypersensitive persons. Eye protection: glasses, if applied to parts in motion. Body protection: overalls. Main hazards - health effects eyes: may cause irritation. Inhalation: viscous nature may block breathing passages if inhaled. Ingestion: may cause diarrhea. Skin: for hypersensitive persons, may irritate the skin after prolonged periods of contact.
