- The Four Mystery Streams by Roland van Vliet (1960-2016) is composed of the audio transcripts of 4 lectures he gave at "Skuorke" in Bakkeveen, The Netherlands in 2011. The lectures are based on the ideas and indications of Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925), the founder of Anthroposophy, on the importance of and the intersections of the 4 mystery streams from the East, the South, the West, and the North which took place during the evolution of the earth and the development of humanity. In a syncretistic attempt to connect the spiritual ideas and impulses from the four heavenly directions, Roland van Vliet describes the inward path of seeking enlightenment as in the teachings of Buddha in the East; the path of seeking spirituality and the cosmic Christ in the elements of the natural world in the West; the path of death and resurrection of Jesus Christ from the South; and the development and spiritualization of the I and community building from the North. During the course of these lectures, through his insights, Roland van Vliet provides the reader with a basis for the understanding of the gestures and characteristics of these four mystery streams, how they are interconnected to form a world cross and their importance for the ongoing development of humankind. Roland van Vliet received his PhD from the Free University of Amsterdam in Philosophy. His doctoral thesis was on Manichaeism. He taught and lectured widely on practical philosophy in the Netherlands, Germany and Sweden. He organized on-site study tours from the Manisola Institute which he founded and taught at in The Netherlands, to spiritual places in England, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Spain, Southern France, Jordan and Greece.
