Sobre este producto
  • "Only in Andrews" is the story of the earliest days of a small town in Indiana once known as Antioch. It was a town like many other small towns, but yet unlike any other town. The town was barely founded when the Civil War broke out and many of the young men went off to war. When they came back, they found opportunity in Antioch and when the Wabash Railroad made Antioch its division point, there was great rejoicing as the town grew. Just a few short years later, there was despair as the railroad pulled out. For a time, the town struggled against the loss of the railroad but at the same time, businesses came to Andrews, churches grew, the school system grew, and it became a delightful town. Like other small towns, Andrews had its share of scandals and crimes. It also had more than its share of major fires, a bank failure, and a political fight that left some of the town feeling black and blue. Through it all, the people of Andrews married, raised families, and supported the town school, churches, and businesses. The Wasmuth family started several businesses, electricity and telephone facilities were put in place, the traction line was installed, and life was good. This story is about the "good old days" in one small Indiana town, but some of the stories could have taken place in your small town, too.
