Mining historian Kerby Jackson introduces us to a classic mining work in this important re-issue of the California State Mining Bureau publication “Methods of Mine Timbering”. Originally published in 1896, this important publication on mining engineering has not been available for nearly a century. Included are rare insights into historical methods of timbering structural support that were used in underground metal mines during the California that still have a practical application for the small scale hardrock miner of today.
