Tropicana cannas are gorgeously vibrant, easy-care live canna plants that add eye-popping tropical flair to any garden or patio. Tropicana Black canna boasts astonishingly attractive purple-black foliage. The plant can absolutely stand on its own as a foliage focal piece, yet it produces showy, long-lasting, large scarlet-orange flowers too. Cannas are naturals for poolside plantings and boggy spots and for displaying their stunning foliage and flowers next to water features. Cast your Tropicana canna as the star of a mixed container planting, lending height and dramatic leafy, flowery dimension. You can even grow Tropicana cannas in large containers indoors near brightly lit windows. Tropicanna cannas grow to form dense clumps from horizontal rhizomes. In a garden bed they'll reach 4 ft. tall in the first year and up to 6 ft. tall from then on. In a large container they'll sit at around 4 ft. Plant in a sunny location with rich, well-draining soil. Keep the soil consistently moist, but not waterlogged and fertilize in spring with a slow-release fertilizer. In colder climates, Zones 3-6, the rhizomes can be dug up and stored indoors over the winter. In warmer zones, cut the foliage to soil level and leave in the ground or in pots.
