The fate of Middle-earth is in your hands! Call the ring team to defend free races and destroy the Only Ring, or throw yourself as Sauron who hunts Frodus and Sam by sending your hordes under the gates of enemy cities. The Lord of the Rings: The Duel of Middle-earth is a unique strategy game based on the principles of the popular 7 wonders of the world: duel. Develop strategies and lead your powers into battle, but be careful. In this epic duel, up to three ways lead to immediate victory: join six races, complete the ring tour, or mark your presence in all regions of Middle-earth. What is that? The game includes three consecutive chapters that run similarly. At the very beginning, the cards of a particular chapter are laid out in a specific layout in which part of it is exposed and part of it is covered. Then players play the players one by one until a card draws the last card or meets one of the conditions at the end of the game. In our turn, we can perform one of two actions: take a chapter card from the available (not covered with others) cards in the layout. Then we can pay the eventual costs, play them and use the effect or reject the card to get coins. Take the plate of an important place. After paying the cost, we place the fortress on the main board in the region corresponding to the tile purchased and benefit from its effects. Depending on the colour, the cards offer different bonuses. Grey represent the skills we pay for cards and tiles, yellow offer coins, blue allow you to track the ring ring race where we race against the opponent, green ones allow you to forge alliances with the races Middle-earth, and red allow unit placement. In the last chapter there are also special purple cards with strong effects. The player wins immediately if he meets one of the requirements of victory: he ends the Rings expedition (Sauron must catch up with Frod and Sam, who in turn try to reach the volcano). He allies with six races of Middle-earth and collects them on green cards. It will conquer Middle-earth, i.e. it will be present in each of the seven regions (thanks to a fortress or at least one unit). If none of the winning conditions are met before the end of the third chapter, the one present in more regions of Middle-earth wins. Why will you love this game? The duel between good and evil plays out in that of J.R.R. created world. Tolkiena is one of the most famous fantasy stories. It has ignited the imagination of readers and other cultural groups for years, making it a particularly grateful theme for the board game against the opposing forces.
