Scope Base Mount for D Wesson Vent Rib Barrel Revolver A scope base rail in anodized black finish for Dan Wesson revolver. The rail has 13 ring slots which make it easier to set up eye relief and find more desired placement of scopes or red dot sights on top of the revolver. No drilling and no tapping are needed. The scope rail is clamped onto the vent rib using the hex screws and two side plates. There are also two supporting hex screws on both top ends of the rail with locking screws that can be used to rest against the top of vent rib to give additional support. Just let the tip of the supporting hex screw to touch the top surface of vent rib and do NOT overtighten the screw which can mar the finish on the vent rib. Unlock the locking screws first to apply these supporting hex screws and remember to tighten up the locking screws afterward.Top rail is compatible with both picatinny and weaver rings and also will mount red dot sights with picatinny or weaver mount. Machined from extruded aluminum alloy. Mounting screws and L hex wrenches are included with the unit. Rail type: Picatinny and weaver Number of ring slots: 13 Overall length: 5 1/4” Finish: Anodized matte black Weight: 3.4oz * Always a good idea to factor in the recoil expected and consider the weight of the scope or red dot sight and choose what to use with the rail. When mounting the rail onto the revolver, Check alignment of the rail with the center line of barrel before tightening the clamping screws. Using blue thread locker glue is recommended and check on the screws periodically as they might become loose due to recoil. Always be sure to unload and practice safe gun handling when mounting the rail.
