VMS RACING Brand Stainless-Steel Short Shifter Kit fits 2006-2011 Civic Si DX LX and EX. The kit is made of CNC machined T304 grade Stainless Steel. An additional step in manufacturing is taken to hard Anodize this unit for a long-lasting finish. This short shifter adapter bolts rigidly to the existing shifter on your vehicle to reposition the shift cable and shorten the throws by almost 40%. This Stainless-Steel adapter is MUCH STRONGER than short shifters or adapters made of aluminum. You will experience improved shift feel and shorter throws. This product retains your stock shift knob height. Installation averages in at about 60 minutes. Short Shifter Basic Installation Instructions below : Step 1 - Remove your Stock Shift knob by unscrewing the KNOB while holding the locking NUT using a 13mm wrench. Step 2 – Remove shift knob locking nut. Step 3 - Remove the Silver Bezel Console Piece. Step 4 - Remove the Black Plastic Console Piece. Step 5 - Remove the Blue Plastic Cap from the Shifter. Step 6 - Unscrew the Short Shifter Adapter Screws. Step 7 - Plug in the Short Shifter Adapter. Step 8 - Tighten the Short Shifter Screws on BOTH sides. Step 9 - Install the Blue Plastic Cap. Step 10 - Reinstall the Plastic Bezels in place. This is a very nice upgrade to your driving performance for your Civic. You can noticeably recognize the quality of this product once it is in your hand. This is not a feather weight aluminum piece. It is a CNC-machined quality piece of heavy stainless-steel.
