On Billboard's Singles Charts, “We Can Work It Out” went to No. 1 on January 8, 1966, and stayed on the charts for 13 weeks. “Day Tripper” went as high as No. 5 on January 22, 1966, and stayed on the charts for 11 weeks. The single was Certified Gold by the RIAA on January 6, 1966. By the end of that same year, over 1,000,000 copies of the record had been sold domestically, over 4,000,000 world-wide. (*Credit to Author Bruce Spizer.) Early pressings of the single erroneously omit on the disc labels the “times” of each song. Corrected labels released shortly thereafter provide the times of each song, as is the case with this Beatles vinyl record being offered here. During the 1960s, Capitol Records manufactured records at three pressing plants: Los Angeles, CA (RARE!); Jacksonville, IL; and Scranton, PA. This particular Beatles disc is the “RARER West Coast Variation” that was manufactured at the Los Angeles, CA, Capitol Records pressing plant!
