  • The "Do You See Them?" Series We are born to fight, and we are destined to win. 1 Tim 6:12 tells us to “fight the good fight of faith.” Ephesians 6:12 instructs that we are not “wrestling against flesh and blood but against powers, principalities, and rulers of wickedness in high places.” Little children innately want to fight the ‘bad guys.’ They want to have something to win, some entity to beat and emerge triumphant! Yet adults are cautious, watching who the perceived enemy is made out to be. No longer can children play cowboys and Indians, no longer can children play army with men hunting and shooting other men. This is an admirable position since loving others is our Lord's instruction. But what remains for the children to exercise their God-given authoritative muscles? I discovered the answer to my question with my grandchildren, Gabriel and Justice. I often take trips to the “Bob and Larry” store (local Christian bookstore) to find fun toys and action figures for the boys. However, we often would end up taking a trip to Walmart or the Dollar Store for a broader selection. Now, the boys know that they can pick any “good guy” action figure, but I will not buy “bad guy” action figures for them. After a recent “good guy” buying trip, the boys came back to visit a few days later and Justice proudly displayed his new “bad guy” action figure! He said, “Nonna, Daddy bought this for me. I know that you don’t like it, but the good guys have to have a bad guy to fight!” That had me thinking. What are we teaching our children when it comes to standing up to the enemy? Later that evening when I was driving the boys home, Justice was happily playing with his action figures, but he kept repeating over and over, “but this isn’t real,” umph! pow! bam! “but this is just pretend” pow! bam! crunch! Those statements rolled over and over again in my mind, all night long and into the next day. Why can’t it be real? Why ISN’T it real? The Lord teaches us to fight (He trains my hands for battle, Ps 18:34) and tells us to wage war for our soul (1 Pet 2:11b). There is a REAL enemy. He is not “pretend.” This enemy and his cohorts fire darts at us night and day. The fight is real! The enemy is real! Why only “pretend” fight when they can have a great time learning the real thing! Not only that, we can show the children how they can ALWAYS win! (Now thanks be unto God, who always causes us to triumph 2 Cor 2:14) (Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Cor 15:57) What child would not want to know, “This is real, and this is what the invisible realm looks like! Here are your weapons for winning, the Word of God and the Angels of the Lord (Heb 1:14), and this is how you win!”? Let the Spirit Realm Series, Do You See Them?, help your child learn what the Truth looks like and how they, too, can be victorious, just like the Bible story heroes that they will see and read about here! The "Do You See Them?" 5-book series will help your children learn the Truth about the spirit realm, their position in it, and their victory through Jesus Christ!
