- The origin of drama can be traced back to primitive ages and is still popular in contemporary world. The present book is an effort to discover the history of drama, its evolution through different ages, cultures and movements, and of those who have made a name for themselves through this genre. The book has been divided into different chapters discussing various aspect of drama. In a real sense, the drama which the classical writers write was severely limited by the physical properties of the theatre. Most scenes had to take place outdoors, occasionally interior scenes were possible. Classical tragedies were written within a definite structural framework, although there are occasional minor variations in some plays.
