The book is designed to follow a semester of ac and dc circuit theory and presumes no previous knowledge of tubes or transistors. The only mathematics necessary is intermediate algebra and a little trigonometry although the rate of change concept is used occasionally, as in the determination of the thermal stability of a transistor amplifier; calculus is not necessary at all. The text provides firm foundation for applications in the fields of communications and computers by covering an important link between basic electricity and advanced electronics applications.
