This book can help students easily grasp basic terms and maintain their interest in mathematics. 1. HOW TO STUDY MATH “The mother tongue is the language of each country, English is the global language of the Earth, and mathematics is the language of the universe.” Even today, parents still want their children to study math very hard. Although parents are busy living for a life and facing various difficulties, the importance of their children's education is undeniable. How are other students studying? It might be tiresome to constantly ask this question, but is there any way to improve student's concentration on mathematics? Please, don't be a "math quitter"! Another method could be "tutoring". It would be lucky if the parents could find a private tutor who is in high demand locally. Where are all the other math teachers? In this case, we know that not many parents can afford the expensive education fee. There are some upper-class families who do this, though we are mostly outsiders or underdogs in capitalism. One generally applicable method is to cram during summer vacation. Students can attend an intensive summer school during the summer vacation for one-and-a-half or two months, studying math for an average of four hours per day. The advantage is that students can learn more intensively because of the tension in the unfamiliar environment, and they can make fast progress in a higher grade of math in a short time. It seems the effect is quite good. On the other hand, a disadvantage is that “oblivion” is the best gift God has given to humans. Knowledge learned in a hurry disappears quickly as Mathematics knowledge in particular, is forgotten sooner with lighting speed. Still, this is not a bad idea if the students can have an environment to keep reviewing what they have learned during the vacation after a new semester starts. The last but not the least method is "self-study". This is the most ideal method in terms of cost and the environmental challenge of studying higher level of mathematics. When a child gets used to the mathematics learning process to some degree, it is a way of self-discipline to solve textbook problems one-by-one and progress forward with a better understanding by doing self-study. In reality, I can say that this is the study method that is possible only for middle or high school students with enthusiastic mind, or for those who are more mature under self control. For elementary school students who have to be forced to sit down at a desk, it will be disastrous and painful to control them to pay their full attention to study. Nonetheless, it is obvious that “self-study” is a crucial part of solidifying student’s math knowledge, and as a learning method, requires the longest time to accomplish.
