Sobre este producto
  • The Serial Wombat 8B is an I2C peripheral that provides smart I/O expansion to solve common interfacing problems - ADC, PWM, Servo, GPIO, rotary encoder reading, H Bridge interfacing and more. It has a separate microcontroller that can offload annoying or interrupt intensive I/O tasks from your main board. It's open-source firmware running on an inexpensive CH32V003 microcontroller. The hardware designs are open-source hardware. This board is specially designed for attaching to other preexisting boards, allowing the Serial Wombat chip to read or manipulate the pins of another device. 4 configurable header pin holes on each end of 8 I/O pins can be solder jumper configured for Vdd, GND, SDA or SCL. You don't program a Serial Wombat board. You command it in real time like any other I2C device using available Arduino, Python/MicroPython or C# libraries.

Convert existing GPIO or Analog devices or boards to I2C using the Serial Wombat 8B's 8 I/O pins. The SW8B Backpack PCB is designed specifically for connecting to other boards with header pins or for connecting to common user interface devices Onboard Serial Wombat firmware handles GPIO and analog tasks onboard, such as button debouncing duration timing and counting, rotary encoder reading, analog averaging, PWM output, to elminate low level polling and output functions over I2C. Each pin runs a state machine that can be assigned a specific function such as Servo, Rotary Encoder, A/D conversion, UART Bridge, PID control, PWM Generation, Kepad decoding, Frequency output, button debouncing, pulse timing and much more Use up to 16 boards on the same I2C Bus with easily closable solder jumpers. On board 2200 ohm I2C Pull ups and power LED can also be enabled with jumpers. Each pin has a software configurable pull-up resistor and a matching ground header hole to facilitate easy connection of buttons or rotary encoders Each side of the PCB has 4 holes that can be configured via solder jumpers in any order to provide GND, VDD, SDA or SCL. This provides incredible flexibility to match the configuration of existing PCBs. The SW8B Backpack can take boards that integrate OLED displays with other controls and reduce them to a single 4 wire connection by handling GPIO or analog tasks locally Open source hardware and software, certified by the Open Source Hardware Association. Many tutorial and example videos avaialble. 3.3V or 5V operation. 5V operation is possible while communicating on a 3.3V I2C bus, allowing mixed voltage circuits or analog inputs. Support libraries available for Python/MicroPython, Arduino and C# Headers, sockets, and additional boards shown in some example photos not included.
