Sobre este producto
  • 1.OBD System OverviewOBD stands for On-Board Diagnostics. This system integrates automobile detection, maintenance, and management. It has the functionality to identify, store, and display fault information through the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)via self-diagnosis.Composition and Principles of OBD SystemThe OBD system is highly complex, with its functionality implemented through software and hardware. The software of the OBD system consists of fault diagnosis control strategy codes and calibrations, together forming the software package of the entire engine control system. The hardware of the OBD system primarily consists of subsystems related to engine emission control, such as sensors on the vehicle, Engine Control Unit (ECU), OBD connector socket, malfunction indica- tor lamp, actuators, circuits, and more. When the vehicle is operating normally, the signals received and output by the Electronic Control Unit(ECU) will change regularly within a certain range. In the event of emission faults or exceeding emission standards, the ECU circuit signals will become abnor- mal and exceed the normal range. The ECU will identify the fault, record the fault information and relevant codes, and issue a fault code through the malfunction lamp as a warning.Main Diagnostic Tests of the OBD System1)Component Testing: This includes any emission-related components, including the on/off status of circuits of all sensors capable of performing detection functions.2) System Testing: Oxygen sensor detection, catalytic converter detection, misfire detection, exhaust gas recirculation pressure detection, secondary air flow detection, etc.Types of OBD System Fault States and Repair PrinciplesThe OBD system handles faults differently based on their states:Permanent Fault: When the OBD system detects a fault for the first time, it judges that the component or circuit related to that signal has a fault, illuminates the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL), and stores the corresponding fault code in internal data.Intermittent Fault: A fault not confirmed before is called an intermittent fault. After detecting and repairing the fault, the OBD system will directly clear the fault record.Reading and Querying Fault CodesOBD fault codes refer to numerical codes recorded by the vehicle's self-diagnostic system to indicate vehicle faults and issues. Reading these codes can help determine the problems the vehicle is experiencing for appropriate repair actions. Using special diagnostic equipment such as a scanner, the diagnostic plug is connected to the electronic control unit through the standard serial interface to read the stored fault codes. Users can use the fault code query function of the diagnostic equipment to view the problems represented by the fault codes or directly search for the codes online.Clearing Fault CodesAfter fixing the fault, users can use the clear code function of the diagnostic equipment to erase the fault codes, turning off the MIL lamp. If the fault is not fixed, the fault code will not be cleared, and the MIL lamp cannot be extinguished.OBD System Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)When the ignition switch is on but the engine has not started, the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) must remain illuminated. After the engine starts, if no faults are detected, the malfunc- tion indicator lamp (MIL) should automatically turn off.If the system confirms the presence of relevant faults(excluding misfire faults causing damage to the three-way catalytic converter), the system will determine a component or circuit related to that signal has a fault, illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL), and save the correspond- ing fault code in internal data. The fault information can be read through a diagnostic tool. If the engine misfire reaches the degree specified by the manufacturer, the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) will imme- diately flash or illuminate. Use a diagnostic tool to reset or disconnect the power to the power system control module, clear the fault codes, and turn off the MIL lamp. If the fault is not fixed, the OBD system will diagnose the fault again, and the MIL lamp will light up again. 2.Product IntroductionThis is a 12V car code reader, supporting nine standard OBDII/EOBD protocols. Plug and play, it can quickly read the vehicle's fault information and parameters, making it a compre- hensive diagnostic tool. Please read the product manual carefully before using. Thank you.
