Users of the STEP/DIR mode driver need to perform the following hardware operations on the driver module before wiring. Users of UART mode drivers do not need to do any soldering. The Benefits of UART Mode: Motor current can be set arbitrarily by firmware. Micro-steps can be set arbitrarily by firmware (up to 256 actual micro-steps). The actual and interpolated microsteps can be combined to achieve maximum torque. Firmware can dynamically switch stepper motors between stealthChop2 and spreadCycle modes through UART. Note:Make sure to do a good job in heat dissipation (heat sink + heat dissipation fan) before driving to prevent abnormal operation of the drive. What it does: Featured with StealthChop2, TMC2208 V3.0 is an extremely quiet motor driver for two-phase stepper motors, which enables softer and even quieter movements. Smooth Operation:TMC2208 V3.0 is controlled by the PWM chopper moder, which effectively avoids losing steps or jittering. UART Mode:This TMC2208 V3.0 comes in UART mode which can be used on control boards by setting jumper caps, no extra wielding requirements, making it flexible to use without redesign or make software or hardware changes. Better thermal performance:Thanks to the immersional gold finishing,with much better thermal dissipation and cooling performance, it means more heavy duty and longer life of the driver motor. Voltage and current: The continuous drive current is 1.2A and the peak current is 2A, voltage range 4.75V-36V, 256 subdivisions.
