The Savoiardi , which take their name from the original region of Savoy, are sweet and light biscuits with a very crumbly and spongy consistency. The shape, a flattened cylinder with rounded edges, resembles a large finger and for this reason, in English, they are called lady fingers, while in France they are called biscuit à la cuillère, which means spoon-shaped biscuit. Their origin is traced back to the late 15th century, when they were created at the court of the Dukes of Savoy as a tribute to a visit by the king of France. Savoiardi are one of the main ingredients for Tiramisù, and in the Neapolitan culinary tradition, during the carnival period, they are dipped in black pudding. The Tiramisu Recipe Tiramisu is a traditional Italian dessert, whose origins are often disputed between the regions of Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Piedmont. It is a spoon dessert based on ladyfingers dipped in coffee, mascarpone, eggs and sugar. Ingredients for 4/5 people: 400g of Savoiardi Marini 400g of Mascarpone cheese 4 eggs 100g of sugar 2 cups of unsweetened coffee cocoa powder to garnish Separate the egg yolks from the white and place them into two separate bowls. Mix the egg yolks with the sugar until they turn into a light, frothy cream and then add the mascarpone cheese. Beat the egg whites and then add them to the cream folding gently. Lightly soak the lady fingers in the coffee and start building the tiramisu by placing a layer in a rectangular dish and cover with cream. Repeat the process by alternating the ladyfingers and the cream in layers and finish by sprinkling the surface with cocoa powder. Refrigerate for a few hours before serving
