The kit includes reusable launch parts, such as a nose cone, a body tube, a parachute, and design components. It also includes a Porta-Pad II Launch Pad and Electron Beam Launch Controller for easy liftoffs. Perfect for families, friends, homeschoolers, hobbyists, or aspiring rocketeers, the Alpha III model offers hands-on experience in physics, engineering, and aerospace and has a projected altitude of 1,150 ft. (351 m). It’s ideal for helping kids explore the wondrous world of science and develop a better understanding of how rockets reach outer space through outdoor experiments. After an estimated preparation time of 1 hour (not including glue- and paint-drying time), this model rocket will be ready for proud display or launch prep. To build and launch this model rocket, you will need scissors, a pencil, a ruler, fine sandpaper, carpenter’s glue, a hobby knife, a compatible Estes model-rocket engine, Starters, Recovery Wadding, and any extra materials listed in the directions. Always follow the NAR (National Association of Rocketry) model-rocket safety code during operation.
